Do you ever get frustrated with your golf game? Do you wish you had a bird's eye view of the course to eliminate some of the guesswork? If you answered yes, then a Golf GPS is for you. These rugged hand-held location devices allow you to measure the distance of your shot as well as how far it is to the greens, hazards and fairways.

Garmin brand GPSs manufacture the Approach G5 golf GPS. The course images are very detailed and come with courses found through the United States. It automatically locates you on the screen so you'll always know how far away the hole is. Also, if you want to measure the distance for your next shot, all you have to do is touch the point on the screen and it will precisely measure the yardage. The display is created in a way to make it easy to see without a glare, even in the brightest sunlight. In addition, the Approach G5 has a built-in digital scorecard which allows you to keep track of your scores on your home computer. With the Garmin golf GPS there are no memberships or annual fees.

Sonocaddie is another brand of golf GPSs. They have three different models - V300, XV2, V100. The V100 is the least expensive model, but still helps measure the distances to the grean and other targets. It is the smallest lightest GPS that Sonocaddie offers but does not have a color screen or large screen size. The XV2 is the next model up. The screen is slightly larger, but does not have a color screen. This model comes with the above plus a digital scorecard. The V300 comes with a large color screen complete with 3-D images. This model has the same features as the Garmin plus it allows you to change the points of the golf course on the spot if an element of the course has changed. With the Sonocaddie, however, you have to register to become a member which does have a minimal annual fee.

In conclusion, a Golf GPS device is a good way to improve your golf game if you need a little help with accuracy.
